Working Together: What to Expect

Before we dive in, I want to make sure we’re on the same page about how this space works and what you can expect from me… and what I’ll expect from you. None of this is about being rigid or intense. It’s about honoring what we’re creating together, so the work truly matters.

Coaching is a powerful process, and clarity up front makes everything smoother, more intentional, and more impactful.

Session Timing & Presence

You’ll notice that each session is “up to” a set length (ie. 45 minutes.) This is intentional… and here’s why. If during a session, we hit a major insight or breakthrough, or reach a point that feels like a natural pause, we may stop at that point. This is intended to let that moment breathe so it can have its greatest impact. Of course, if we haven’t hit that sort of moment in the session, we’ll keep going until time is up. Ultimately, you’re not paying for time… You’re here for growth. I want to ensure that we are honoring those moments as they happen, and not try to just fill the time with noise.

This really applies mostly to one on one coaching. Group and mentoring sessions have their own vibe, and we’ll honor that as well.

To make our time count, I will ask that you show up on time, with your tech sorted (Zoom, internet, mic, etc.), and be in a quiet, private space where you can be fully present. When I arrive to a session, I will turn off my notifications and place my phone on Do Not Disturb, and ask that you do the same. This space is for you… but it only works if you’re fully in it.

Rescheduling & Missed Sessions

If you need to reschedule, please give as much advance notice as possible. The specifics are in our agreement (typically 48 business hours), and that’s what we’ll go by.

You’re allowed one late cancellation without penalty… but after that, the session will be forfeited. If you no-show entirely, that session is gone (unless there’s a true emergency, which we’ll handle on a case-by-case basis.)

If we’ve had clear communication ahead of time, I’ll always do my best to accommodate make-ups. Basically, the time is set aside for you… I will honor that time and ask that you do as well.

Communication Between Sessions

You’re welcome to email me at any point… whether you’ve had a breakthrough, want to share something that came up, or just need to check in. I’ll respond during business hours and aim to get back to you promptly.

Logistical questions are usually quick to handle. If it’s more personal, I’ll respond as I’m able and is appropriate.

Either way, the deeper coaching will always stay inside our sessions unless your program includes specific in-between email support.

Homework Between Sessions

Sometimes I may offer a prompt or practice between sessions. Often these “homework” suggestions are meant to support what we’re already doing or help you prep for the next session.

Of course… we’re not in grade school, they won’t be graded and they’re never “required.” That means I won’t chase you down to check whether you’ve done it, although it may come up in the work naturally.

Ultimately, this is your process. I’m here to support you, but please understand that I’m not an accountability coach. The work is yours to own as you will.

Your Role & Readiness

You don’t need to prep anything ahead of time unless I’ve asked for something specific.

Just show up… whatever shape you’re in. Some days you’ll feel clear, others you might feel stuck. Both are valid. If I come in with a plan and your energy or needs say otherwise, we’ll shift. What matters most is that you’re real with me, open to the work, and willing to show up honestly.

My Role & Boundaries

I know I’ve said it before… but I’m not here to “fix you” or give you all the answers. I’m here to help you uncover what’s already there.

Yes… I’ll challenge you. I’ll support you. I’ll offer insight when it’s needed and hold space when it’s time to reflect. I’ll always show up fully… with no distractions or half-presence. I may even offer advice if it serves the moment, especially if we’ve agreed there’s a mentorship element. But at the core, I’m here to ask the questions that help you find your own truth.

I’m not here to offer therapy, emotional labor outside of our sessions, or to become your accountability tracker. If something comes up that’s outside the path we’ve set together, we can talk about whether a shift in focus or an additional coaching plan makes sense.

Payments & Pausing

I’m going to be candid here… I’m not here to chase money. If you’re on a monthly payment plan and a payment is missed, coaching pauses until that’s resolved. If that doesn’t happen in a timely way, the program may end without refund.

If something major happens in your life – like a family emergency or health issue — we can talk about a pause. I’ll do my best to be flexible when it matters most, but reschedules and pauses can be disruptive, and aren’t automatic. I set time aside for you, and that should be honored by both of us.

If I ever feel coaching is no longer a good fit and end things on my end, I’ll offer a prorated refund on unused prepaid sessions. But if you choose to end things early, there typically won’t be a refund. This work takes time, and sometimes the hardest stretches bring the biggest breakthroughs.

A Few Final Things

Tech doesn’t always cooperate. If something goes wrong – Zoom crashes, your internet drops, power goes out – we’ll do our best to reconnect and continue. If we can’t, we’ll figure out a fair solution together.

As noted in the Coaching Agreement, sessions are recorded so I can stay fully present without scrambling for notes… but those recordings are for me only, and they’re never shared without your permission.

And just so we’re clear: I can’t guarantee any specific results… That’s not how this works. What I can promise is that I’ll bring everything I’ve got to our time together. You’ll get honesty, presence, perspective, and a space to figure out what really matters — and what you want to do about it.

I look forward to this work with you!

If you ever have questions, concerns, or need to revisit anything here, just ask.
